Fantastic experience: From the initial visit to post completion JDG and the team were exemplary. The dedication they have shown throughout has been outstanding. Louisa is just wonderful and an absolute credit and asset to the team. Thank you ever so much.

Positive experience: Negative reviews are as important as positive ones. I had an incredibly poor experience with JDG and in some ways feel the service I received was nearer to one star, but I also recognise that there are some lovely hardworking people in the team who did the best they could in the space they worked in. My listing was riddled with errors, one of the key omissions being about parking - despite 4 cars being able to be parked on the premises, the initial listing cited on-street parking. (There were other details omitted that were picked up by Houseclub, who I successfully sold my house with many months later.) Despite this, an asking price offer was accepted after a first viewing by first time buyers. I suspect that the buyers were supported as minimally as I was as a seller - the transaction was primarily managed in an app rather than by a person. The buyers pulled out just before contracts because of concerns that were common for a property of the age. I suspect the George Cross painted at the roundabout may have also played a factor in their decision, but that is conjecture. Either way, I was left feeling that JDG was not supporting the buyer similarly to how I felt I was not being supported. Efforts to remarket the property were poor. I had a number of no shows and started to think the viewings were fictional. Overall this was the worst experience I had selling a home - I’ve sold 8 in the last 24 years here in the UK and this left a bad taste in my mouth. While they work for some, they were the wrong choice for me. I needed the level of personal service I got at Houseclub who seamlessly and successfully sold my home. If JDG put as much effort in marketing my home as they do in marketing themselves, I suspect this would have been better. Choosing JDG cost me thousands of pounds while my property remained vacant. Even if you’re selling, you’re buying a service - caveat emptor.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding g from beginning to end. JDG won my business because their valuer had done homework, researched the locale and provided a data backed valuation. They provided a useful guide on getting your house picture ready, for the listing photos. Every stage of the process was discussed and agreed. Viewing appointments were politely handled and feedback from the viewing was prompt and useful. There was early interest in my property, but I was surprised nevertheless, when I accepted an offer 3 weeks and 3 days into the listing. Louisa, our sales progressor, was superb. I was kept informed every step of the way. Even when there was an issue with my onward purchase, Louisa helped a to facilitate a good solution for me that allowed my sale to complete. Absolutely above and beyond. I’ve verbally recommended JDG to a number of my friends who are looking at property sales themselves. I wholeheartedly recommend them to you also.

Negative experience: If estate agent puts pressure on completing but your solicitor recommends a walk through before exchanging contracts, do it!! Because even though I was told by estate agents it wasn't necessary as nothing had changed with the property since I last viewed it, and there would be a cleaning, and removal of debris and a microwave dumped on garden. None of this happened. Ghosted. And what I found was this (see pics). Additionally, the original adverts for 24 Pennine View Glasson Dock said nothing of it being a full renovation. Advert contained filtered photos and a list price that was insane considering condition. Bait and switch. Not a good business practice. I now explore my options. #jdgestateagents

We purchased our home through JD Gallagher, and Louisa pretty much took over the entire process, including the sale of our property, even though it was being done through another estate agent. Positive experience: We had little contact with this estate agent other than email exchanges which seemed fine. We were kept well informed of visits to the property. We had to push a little as the sale seemed to drag on when the estate agent should perhaps have put a little more pressure on the buyer to complete. Negative experience: Dreadful service, I was meant to have a viewing at 10am. I left my house in Essex at 5am during an amber warning to arrive at the house with no one there. Therefore I called and I got told they have moved my booking to the wrong column which is ridiculous considering the spam reminders i received. To then receive the most naive comment “can you wait till 12” as if I don’t have other viewings up north to look later on today. Took a day off work for this rubbish
