Negative experience: Waited almost 2 weeks after viewing a flat to get an outcome for letting. Getting an outcome from the owners took a while which understandably isn’t the fault of the lettings team. But we got no response to the emails we sent enquiring about the status of our application for tenancy. When called, promises were made that responsible person would get back to us, but didn’t. In the end, after daily calls, a different person tells us that the flat was rented couple of days ago. This was completely unacceptable. Knowing that the property has been rented is important for us applicants so that we can start searching for other places. No response to emails, no information to tell us that property has been let to someone else. Poor experience overall.

They were all well prepared for the viewings and knowledgeable about the flats they were showing. After I had an offer accepted I was introduced to Paige who helped with the progression of the sale. Paige was patient and kind and answered all of my various questions as a first time buyer. She spent time chasing solicitors on my behalf and made the whole process much less stressful. I have had a great experience using Meyers and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend to a friend.

Sadly, the first buyer pulled out (through no fault of Meyers), but they got the property back on the market the same day and found a new buyer very quickly again. The process went on for several months because of this, but the team were brilliant throughout. I found the staff so friendly and helpful, and the communication was fantastic all the way through. They created a WhatsApp group with me and kept me informed of every update - and they always replied to any questions within a few hours (usually immediately). Plus, every time I popped into the office I recieved a warm welcome, and everyone always remembered me, so the service felt very personal. I'd 100% use Meyers again if I sell in future!

Fantastic experience: Moving house with two young children was potentially a daunting prospect but Meyers have made the process so much easier. From the initial first meeting to the end they have made us feel a valued customer. The WhatsApp set up throughout the process between Meyers and ourselves made communication easy and we never had to chase for updated as Meyers frequently kept us in the loop with what is happening. Can not recommend enough for anyone looking to sell their house.

The photos were more professional and better quality. The communication from them was so much better and proactive compared to the other agent. My sales agent for Meyers was Bex whi was really knowledgeable and proactive. She set up a WhatsApp group to keep me updated. All of the staff were aware of my transaction. When we accepted an offer we moved to Paige who chased the sale through. The whole process with Meyers was a lot better than the first 6 weeks with another local agent.

Fantastic experience: We purchased our first home through Meyers in 2021 and received great service from everyone we came into contact with throughout the process, so when it came to listing our property for let it made sense for us to choose them again. We couldn't fault the service the provided. From initial discussions through to signing our side of the letting agreement, Alec was on hand to answer all our questions (and there were many!). He patiently provided us with all the information we needed, and was happy to revisit us in person when we asked him to. We also dealt with Flo who was fantastic at keeping us updated at all stages of finding tenants, organising viewings, having checks completed, and handing over the keys. She was professional, approachable, and friendly, and provided us with quick responses at every turn. Having the process be so straightforward and stress free was fantastic, especially as we are now non-UK resident landlords, we would highly recommend Meyers to anyone looking to let their property.

We had a few 'sticky issues' with a seller and she was very understanding when we decided not to procede. Negative experience: We have mixed views on the service Meyers of Dorchester provided. We found Mark Meyers very personable and enthusiastic. We were experiencing seller fatigue but were persuaded to give our property one more go. Xmas came and went with not much activity. To be fair the market was dire. On the 11th January we had a visit from a member of Meyers who wanted to reduce the price whilst in the same breath saying the market was picking up. We had feedback for them on their lack of presence on facebook, unlike other branches of Meyers. We also had trouble accessing our property on their website. It took several reminders and 10 working days for Meyers to upload and change the description which was written up by our friend and Meyers cut and pasted the whole thing. Things improved and viewings started to come in. An offer was made and dealt with by Meyers but the buyers asked to negotiate direct with us due to Meyers not getting back to them. Likewise the surveyors sent an email saying they were having trouble getting hold of anyone in Meyers office. This was disputed vehemently by Meyers. The negotiation was completed to our satisfaction by ourselves and we heard nothing from Meyers until a message was left by us letting Mark know the Conveyancers were concerned about the lack of presence by Meyers. Our buyers informed us that their estate agents were heavily involved and very helpful. Mark left a voice mail saying they didn't usually get involved until 8-10 weeks after an offer was accepted. We dealt with everything from there on in and had a call from Meyers wanting to know where the date for completion had come from. They knew nothing about anything. In summary of Meyers of Dorchester performance I would say: nice people but they have become complacent in a very tough market. They need to have a facebook presence and take advantage of other social media platforms and they need to make regular check ups on progress with solicitors or other associated professionals. We dealt with the write up, negotiations, conveyancing, exchange and the completion with no input from Meyers. They even asked us to take our own For Sale sign down.

Fantastic experience: My recent purchase of a house near Dorchester proved to be very difficult due to the fixed date by which the buyer of my home wanted to complete, stated as a condition of their purchase. The purchase of my new home encountered a number of difficulties which needed to be resolved in the challenging timescale. There were issues with the legal status of the Freehold, set against a number of old deeds and then my Surveyor's Report, which identified some significant defects rather late (due to availability of Surveyors in a very busy period) in the sale. Dealing with these problems required Meyers Estate Agents (Poundbury) to arrange and lead meetings with their client, contractors who had been responsible for recent improvements to the property and local planning staff, leading to a subsequent renegotiation of the sale price. There was real danger that completion of my purchase would not take place until after the required completion of the sale of my home, leaving me homeless. Beccy was determined that this would not happen, as later reflected and supported by her manager Mark during her absence on leave. It is especially noteworthy that whilst taking leave, Beccy kept in touch with progress and came into her office to make sure that things progressed well. I am extremely grateful for the efforts exerted by Beccy and Mark on my behalf. This was a clear demonstration of Estate Agency at its best.

Negative experience: Bad business and unprofessional. Long story, short: they called me Friday afternoon letting me know that the landlord had accepted my application and we were going to proceed. Super! Happy days! She, then, set up a meeting for Monday evening, at the property, to presumably, go over some details and sort out the holding deposit. Fast forward to Monday evening - I arrived at the flat but nobody was there. I called the office to see if she was, perhaps, running late. Instead, I was told that they had given the flat to somebody else because I did not answer the phone when they called earlier in the day. They claim that they left a voice message which they DID NOT. My work is very busy and yes, I saw that I had a couple of missed calls from a number that I did not recognize, which is a fairly regular occurrence. But HAD I known that not calling that number back was going to have these implications and HAD they left a voice message, I certainly would have taken a minute to reach out. I hope this review was worth getting a holding deposit on the flat a couple of hours sooner than you would have received it from me. Disgusting.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been renting through Meyers for the past six months. They have been so helpful, from initially suggesting this property to me, to guiding me through the tendency process. I’ve only had the odd small issue since I moved in, but Amy, Kerry and Alec have always been easily reachable and immediately spoke to the landlord or made arrangements to rectify the problem. The communication has always been fantastic and they are always happy to pick up the phone and answer any questions. Obviously, there's still a long way to go, but Myers have been great. It was about 5 weeks between speaking to Mark and getting the sold sign up, and they've worked really hard to make sure everyone's happy. Communications have been great throughout, especially post-visit feedback which we'd identified as a bugbear with the previous firm.

Positive experience: These guys did a great job. Becky worked with me from the beginning and was fast to reply, act, get the gist on the market and check in with me throughout the process. She was always positive, but reflective and went out of her way to message me (even on days off!) or talk things through when issues came up, (as they do when moving!) Negative experience: Heard good things, so we were hopeful the buying process would run smoothly. however we did not receive good service. Communication was poor and limited. Often being left days and sometime weeks without updates. The sale did not happen.

Negative experience: Was all good starting up and were quick to sort repairs. However when we moved out the landlord tried to claim for a pre exsiting broken fence but the report from the deposit scheme was due to the estate agents failure to respond to them to confim it was noticed the day before we moved in as they were made aware by the next door neighbour and it not being on the report they paid out our deposit to the landlord after months of disputing it sending copies of written confirmation from the estate agent that the damage was their prior we finally got our money back from the depoait scheme as they are the error, could of been solved quicker if the estate agents helped from the start

Fantastic experience: Would thoroughly recommend this excellent team. We have been on quite a journey with them all in the last two years having sold our rental property, which wasn't without its challenges, our main home and moving temporarily into rental accommodation. Throughout the service has been excellent, professional, friendly and courteous. We thank Mark and Jamie for their support and advice through the selling process, and Pauline for keeping us informed along the way. Amy for looking after us with the rental property where she was always very quick to respond and sort any concerns we had. Tom and Harry for showing us around numerous properties. Communication is key and we were always kept informed at every step of the way. It really is a whole team approach and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending them.
