Fantastic experience: We sold our flat using Mayfair and found their valuation, viewing and sales progression service excellent. Of particular note was the sales progression service through Matt Jakeman, who was instrumental in seeing our sale through to completion.

Negative experience: Avoid renting from Mayfair town and county at all costs. We moved into a property in Bristol and it was unclean and dirty throughout the property and mould in the bathroom. Upon several requests they finally got a cleaner in. We also reported a broken lock on the living room window which never got resolved throughout our time at the property. We then handed back the property which was in much better condition that we received it and got deducted more than half our deposit Harriet evaluated!! Completely unacceptable and bad behaviour from an agent who should be working with us rather than price people out of there deposit very little communication at all through the process I will never be renting from Mayfair again. This is the 2nd time I have had yet again very bad experience. I would certainly encourage more people that have had experience with Mayfair come forward and put their views down as mine have always been bad. No wonder people are finding it hard to live with greedy people like this trying to take away young people deposit money

Fantastic experience: We have been extremely happy with Mayfair. They were our letting agent for some time, and efficient across the board with all that was required. When it came to selling the property, Mayfair provided a very friendly and professional service, and secured the buyer. Their offices are warm and welcoming, and the staff have been accessible and amenable in every way. Overall, an excellent agency.

Negative experience: Represent a dodgy landlord! We had a tenancy with our ex landlord with a previous agency (Acen, formerly known as Nexa) and he moved here at the end of it and is most likely letting through them. We rented through him until August of last year when our tenancy ended. I paid off all our bills and closed our accounts. Looks like the landlord never paid the bills once we moved out. My housemate got a debt collection letter this week for the period of August to March of this year (when new tenants moved in) from the energy company, it seems the landlord said it was our debt when its not, its his. Not happy. Hes probably done this to other tenants. Even if its not malicious and genuine mistake, still very stressful and shows a lack of responsibility on his part. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience moving with Mayfair. It was my first time moving out but Annabel was very helpful and happy to answer any and all questions I had. She helped move me into my new flat as soon as possible and the process was made very simple and straightforward. Would recommend Mayfair and would move with them again.

Fantastic experience: I’ve recently moved into a rental with Mayfair and it’s been my smoothest moving experience by far. Communication with Annabel during and after my move was very prompt and she patiently answered all my questions about my new flat and the moving process. Fantastic experience: Rarely am I in genuine awe of someone's professionalism, commitment, and dedication overseeing a tough sale whilst managing a client's expectations which at times were no doubt irritating. I work in Sales and I would be lying if a WhatsApp or e-mail sent late on an afternoon or a Friday didn't stay unopened till the following Monday but that was never the case, not once with Claire, I would have noticed. Fantastic experience: We learnt the hard way the value of an excellent estate agent like Claire and her team at Mayfair. We were approached by someone who offered us a private sale. It was tempting to save the money that you have to pay to an estate agent so we went ahead. The whole thing was a disaster from start to finish. Suffice to say that after several months the sale fell through not least because the buyer had misrepresented their position to us but also because there was nobody to manage the sale and drive it through. Having learnt that lesson when we put the property back on the market we decided that we would sell it via an estate agency. We could not have chosen a better agent than Claire. She was excellent at building relationships and handling both sides of the chain (at times having difficult conversations with prospective buyers) She was tenacious in chasing things up and making sure that our sale was progressing at all times and always responsive to any questions or queries that we had. I would recommend Claire and her team at Mayfair unreservedly.

Fantastic experience: Having lots of experience with various estate agents, Mayfair are miles above the rest. They acted for both our purchase and our sale with a large chain involved. Claire couldn’t have done any more. Her communication was exceptional and the house sale pushed through in record time. I can’t recommend them enough.

Negative experience: We used Mayfair as a letting agent for the last number of years. While we previously found them okay, the last few years they have not been very good at following through with tasks (e.g. arranging work with tradespeople), which meant that we were a lot more directly involved in managing the property than we should have been. The last tenant that moved out also left the property in a poor state, and Mayfair were not very good at either preventing or dealing with this.

Fantastic experience: Mike initially and then Claire both did a great job dealing with the sale of our mothers house. It was a difficult situation that was more complex than normal and they both did good work. Claire at the end having to deal with numerous delays that were out of her hands!

Negative experience: Avoid this Management Company at all costs - I would have given no stars if given the choice. Our property was left with severe mould and damp issues, which resulted from a lack of ventilation to the property. We installed a new bay window last year, costing £2k, and when the tenant moved out just 6 months later, they left two large permanent black mould stains on the pvc which can not be cleaned. The property was left in an unhabitable state after the tenant moved out, resulting in the need to redecorate the whole house, along with a multitude of things that needed fixing that hadn't been reported by either the tenant or the management company. This has left us out of pocket and we are still working our way through these now. A changeover in staff resulted in a serious damp issue/request to investigate further not being followed up. When the Clifton branch closed, clients were moved to the Clevedon branch, and customer files were lost, leading to them having to send out new contracts. The new contract then contained more fees than we had agreed to pay and we would have been forced to pay these - luckily we saw sense and moved to another Bristol based management company which are providing an excellent service. The staff at Mayfair are incompetent at running a professional management company, and some more senior members are rude and abrasive. Avoid if you can, there are much better management companies out there.

Fantastic experience: We have been with them for 3 years nearly and they have always been available and helpful and when they had to let us know the sad news that our landlord was selling the property we was renting they were very kind and as helpful as they could be. We hope one day in the future that we find a property in their catchment area again because they are a joy to work with.

Fantastic experience: Mayfair have been a great agent for my tenancy. They were quick to respond to queries and quick at getting in touch with my landlord for any issues with the property. Everyone was always kind and extremely helpful from the beginning to the end. Would recommend them as a rental agency.

Negative experience: Really was not happy with my experience with Simon Mayfair williams, renting a place and a few problems in the flat with the oven not working for one month even after telling the agency about the problem it was not resolved until after a month after I told them, but they seemed to take there time. And at the end of our tenancy I asked for a deposit back but they wanted to keep a large amount of almost £200 to clean cupboards that I cleaned before I left the property and change 5 light bulbs and clean a skirting board with dust, and even had the cheek to send me pictures of marks around the property that were already there when we arrived, but are trying to say I made the Marks and didn’t clean them before I left, but I also have proof as I took pictures when I first moved in of parts of the property that was not dirty. So a VERY VERY BAD EXPERICE WITH *SIMON WILLIAMS MAYFAIR* I would not recommend anyone renting off of them as they will try and take your deposit even when you leave the house is a good condition, maybe not as perfect as you arrived but a high standard.
