Alexander Jacob Estate Agents & Co| Retford Estate Agents

Fantastic experience: I live overseas and recently had to sell my late mum’s property, so having an agent I could trust was incredibly important. I was initially a little hesitant after hearing from a neighbour that I might hardly hear from Rod, but I’m very happy to say I had absolutely nothing to worry about! Aaron and Emily were fantastic — always quick to respond, keeping me regularly updated and incredibly helpful despite the time difference. I especially appreciated that they checked on the property regularly, which gave me great peace of mind while I was working within a budget. I understand there is normally a charge for this, as there was with most of the other agents I spoke to, so I really appreciated their courtesy in making the process as stress-free as possible for me while I was abroad. They genuinely made what was a daunting process feel somewhat easier. I always felt comfortable reaching out whenever I was anxious or had a question, and there were many! I’m grateful for their support and would happily recommend the team at Alexander Jacob.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic team, always ready to help and are so polite and professional. Special thanks to our contacts Aaron, Emily and Rod who helped us with our house sale. Can highly recommend as they always go the extra mile and in our case helped us achieve our goal to purchase another property within very tight timescales. Thank you Aaron and all the team. Much appreciated, Rosean

Fantastic experience: A speedy and professional job by Rod, Aaron and all the staff I dealt with Alexander Jacob. I'll try to keep this short; I had a small property for sale in Retford which had been rented for a while with another estate agent in town and I asked what they thought I could get on a sale and after an extensive discussion they suggested it be marketed at £80k and wouldn't budge on it. I was never going to accept this and a third party(thank you Shane!) suggested I speak with Rod, he told me £100k would be easily achievable and indicated a little work be done, which came to less than £1k and was arranged by AJ, and I sold for £110k. I'm not suggesting that this will be everyone's experience but Alexander Jacob clearly have a far, far better grip on how the local market is trending than some other estate agents in town.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience, the team kept me updated constantly. They were upfront and honest about each aspect, and were available whenever I needed them. 10/10 service, would recommend.

Fantastic experience: We found dealing with these very easy and were able to answer any questions we had, which were numerous as we’d never moved house before.

Fantastic experience: These are the best real estate agents on the planet. My father who lived in Retford which is a town in Nottingham, passed away leaving me to manage his estate . I live in California and without the team at Alexander Jacob Real Estate it would have been impossible to accomplish this. They are the best … they made what was at first impossible possible even though it took time they never wavered going out of there way at every step to make it happen. I’m forever grateful . If you need Real Estate help … this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: Just bought a house with Alexander Jacob Estate Agents. We couldn't fault a thing from start to finish. Rod, Aaron and Emily and Yom have all been brilliant would definitely recommend

Positive experience: Staff at Alexander Jacob Estate Agents, Retford are amazing nothing is too much trouble for them, communication is excellent keeping me informed every step of the way often before my solicitor had chance to contact me

Fantastic experience: Top notch service from first viewing to completion of sale....and beyond. The whole team have been amazing but particular mention to Emily and Tom for their support and helpfulness throughout the whole painful process of a house purchase. We've purchased a new build property with associated snags and the team at Alexander Jacobs have, and continue to, go above and beyond to deliver and help with issues. They are a delight to deal with and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending their services.

Fantastic experience: We recently purchased our first property using Alexander Jacob Estate Agents. They have honestly gone above and beyond for us throughout the whole process. Special thanks to Aaron and Tom they have been absolutely fantastic and kept us up to date and made the whole process so much easier. We would recommend them to anyone. Fantastic experience: Purchased a property using Alexander Jacob and found them to be helpful and kept me up to date throughout the process. They kept checking in throughout and I found the process easy and straight forward. I will definitely use them again!

Negative experience: Absolutely shambles of an organisation. Do not go anywhere near this estate agents. There is no communication between those who work at Alexander Jacob and even less with clients. Personal experience as a buyer - lost thousands as a result of the incompetence and lack of accountability. BEWARE

Fantastic experience: Brilliant staff. All very polite and helpful. The boss went the extra mile to make sure I got to view the property I was interested in.. I’m still interested but it’s a little out of my budget.. but that’s not their fault.

Negative experience: Shocking company, couldn’t tell the difference between one rental from another, zero communication and will most likely charge you for something you haven’t left behind (from the previous owner)

Fantastic experience: Great service. Aaron, Emily and Rod kept us informed and were friendly and helpful. Many thanks for helping us sell our property. Andrea kemp

Fantastic experience: Alexander Jacob are a great company. Reliable and very helpful. Tom was especially helpful. Great service!

Negative experience: I cannot get through to the lettings department regarding money going out of my account. I’ve left messages but nobody has called me back. Frustrating!

Fantastic experience: We have had 5 star care from start to finish! Constant updates on the progress of our sale helped a great deal. We always experienced the staff being very pleasant, helpful and open to any phone calls or queries we had. We definitely recommend Rods team and especially Aaron and Emily whom we had most contact with.

Negative experience: We are very unhappy with the services, they don’t respond to emails, after filling out the application they don’t give answers and in case of refusal they also don’t inform us. Unanswered work. It is not surprising that houses remain unavailable for a long time. I don't recommend it

Fantastic experience: So moving in this current climate is the worst experience I have ever gone through. I thought I was never going to find anywhere to live. Alexander jacob and more specifically Tom literally saved me from a mental breakdown. From the first meeting he was hopeful he could help. Literally the first house I viewed with this estate agents has lead to a successful application. Thankyou for making what is a pretty tough time at the moment that bit easier.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service from George at Alexander Jacob. Everything dealt with in a professional manner .

Fantastic experience: George was very helpful and polite And always return emails and phone calls. Thank you George and your team @ Alexander & Jacob

Fantastic experience: Excellent presentation of the property. Very professional and attentive team, never had to chase for anything always kept us informed on progress.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Alexander Jacob for several years now and always get excellent service. Communication is good and problems resolved quickly. Nothing is too much trouble

Fantastic experience: I am so pleased with the service we received from Alexander Jacob. From start to finish the support we received from them was impeccable. We felt like our move was important to the whole team and Aaron and Emily in particular were excellent. Calls were never missed and they would always follow through with the things they said they would do. Communication is excellent and efficient and they made the stressful process of moving that much easier. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish I can’t recommend Alexander jacobs estates enough! We moved from one property to another through them and they were absolutely amazing! From start to finish Tom was there with my millions of questions and kept in touch throughout the process and kept us up to date and got everything done for us quickly. Rod and Emily showed buyers around the property on behalf of the landlord but they were so kind and thoughtful to us as tennants too and made us feel at ease. The team couldn’t help us enough and they did everything they could to make our move go super smoothly. I’m so so greatful to them for making a really stressful situation so smooth and relaxed. They are professional and very knowledgeable about what they do but are also really supportive and caring! Thank you so much to all of them.

Fantastic experience: They gave me a new house and welll behaved staffs too

They were very professional yet friendly, Emily was happy to deal with any queries I had and was quick to communicate with me throughout.

Fantastic experience: Great experience overall with Alexander Jacob. Buying our first house, was at times confusing and stressful. However the customer care we received during this process was attentive, understanding and set our minds at ease. Spencer was particularly brilliant. Fantastic experience: An estate agency with very professional agents and a great customer approach.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service! From Rod coming to value and walk through the process to the final congratulations for the sale from the team! A superb team. Friendly, Informed, knowledgeable, patient (they had to be with me sorry guys!). I would highly recommend them. the quality of their work, the photos and use of the drone was above and beyond. All at a great price! many thanks to you all at Alexander Jacob you should be prioud!

Fantastic experience: I wouldn’t use any other Estate Agent! Alexander Jacob have a fabulous team who go above and beyond for their clients. It was a pleasure to deal with you and Spencer you saved the day!

Fantastic experience: Extremely grateful to Alexander Jacobs for their fast and spectacular work, really went the extra mile to make sure as a customer/client I was accommodated to accordingly. Fantastic experience: First class service from all at AJ. From looking at my new build off plan, to choosing the interior options, Emily and the AJ team were extremely knowledgeable and always happy to provide guidance and advice. As a first time buyer, they were able to provide assistance with all aspects of my purchase, including the recommendation of a quality mortgage advisor and constantly keeping me up to date with how things were progressing. Fantastic experience: Great Service

Fantastic experience: Spencer at Alexander Jacob has been ever so efficient and communication was spot on. Thanks for your help.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Alexander Jacob highly enough They provide an excellent service from start to finish at a reasonable cost. The communication was excellent throughout the sale of our property. They really did go the extra mile leading up to the completion of our sale and we cannot thank Aaron enough for his work in communicating up and down our chain to ensure progress on us moving to our new home.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service from all the staff at Alexander Jacob. Always very helpful and professional.

Fantastic experience: Spencer went above and beyond to help us with buying our first property. From the first viewing of the house to completion Spencer kept us updated and chased solicitors for answers and updates. Couldn't of asked for a better person to help us through it all.

Fantastic experience: It’s been a pleasure dealing with everyone at Alexander Jacob regarding our house sale and subsequent purchase. Viewing arrangements and property marketing were dealt with professionally and promptly by Emily (superstar!). Also, Spencer and Aaron relentlessly chased updates to progress sales, which can be an absolute nightmare at times, but both transactions were done and I don’t think this would have been possible without the entire team. Rod, who initially came to value the house, was a perfect blend of expertise and friendliness whereas others who valued the property seemed scripted and robotic - highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant sales team, dealt with Aaron, Emily and Spencer and they ware extremely accommodating and friendly - would recommend these guys everyday of the week. Rod has assembled a exceptionally good team of agents. Professional, friendly and always went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction and the sale of my house!

Fantastic experience: I have let a property from them for past 3 years and they have been extremely helpful and understanding. Dan the lettings manager was always there to help me when i was experiencing a maintenance issue, Even after hours. Tom and George are very professional and responsive. 5 stars all round

Fantastic experience: The saying "above and beyond" was never so apt. Aaron and Emily went out of their way to ensure the purchase of our new home went as smoothly as possible when our own conveyancer was having problems following a cyber attack on their systems. We didn't use them as a selling agent, but if ever we decide to move home again they will be the first call on our list. Heartfelt thanks to all at AJ & Co..

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Just had the Man out to Value a house what a perfect gentleman, very thorough and obliging.

Fantastic experience: A professional company who understands customer service!!! Alexander jacob have just dealt with the sale of my property. They've impressed from start to finish, from the very first meeting with Rod at the valuation to Emily personally dropping the keys off on completion. This company understands the true meaning of customer service and have handled this sale like it's there own. They have constantly and daily been a head of the curve chasing and keeping in contact with all parties (which in the current climate as not always been easy!) and they do this off there own back. Everyone I've dealt with at Alexander jacobs have been professional and polite, a special thanks to Emily who never gave up, when at times it was like banging our heads against the wall... 5 stars is really not enough for this company, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT and would definitely recommend and wouldn't use anyone else!!!

Fantastic experience: Emily from Alexander Jacob has been fantastic throughout the whole process of selling a home for us while we have been overseas. She was very helpful at a very difficult time and went over and above anything we could have asked for in arranging the sale and all the other aspects of selling from overseas. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: As a purchaser I was really happy with the service I received from Alexander Jacob. Aaron dealt with our purchase mainly and his communication was fantastic. Thank you to all the team for your help along the way

Fantastic experience: I have recently had a couple of dealings with AJ and I found them very responsive, friendly and helpful. All the staff I spoke to we're great but George in particular was just fabulous. Recommended

Fantastic experience: I had not sold a house for 20 years and the team at Alexander Jacob have held my hand the entire time. Excellent customer service (always cheerful) from each and everyone in the team. Emily though has been particularly helpful. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Fantastic experience: I started buying a house around the start of first lockdown. The process dragged on for various reasons but Aaron and everyone else at Alexander Jacob were there throughout and extremely helpful. Communication was always quick and polite. I always felt happy with the service received.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Alexander Jacob have been fantastic to work with regarding our house sell and new purchase. They were very responsive on the phone and email, super helpful and friendly, they made selling and buying a house very easy and stress-free. Nothing was too much for them if I had a query and had to speak to someone. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Couldn't have found a better team to deal with the sale of my childhood home. Constant updates throughout the matter. Very professional and helpful, always willing to go that extra mile to get things done. Very happy to recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Rod, Aaron & Emily are a great team and provide an excellent service. They kept us up to date with all viewings & offers. Totally hassle free selling and would recommend them to everyone. Very please as the whole sale went through in two months and the house sold from start to finish in 5.

Fantastic experience: I like the way they do viewings. Everyone who has requested a viewing gets one and they then phone everyone afterwards to find out what they thought. It was only then that you were asked to put an offer forwards. So much better than arrange to view a property and find out on the way there, having travelled long distances to get there, that the viewing gets cancelled en route or just before you arrive, which has happened to me several times recently.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Alexander Jacob, Estate Agents & Company, without hesitation. Rod, Emily and Aaron have offered a fantastic service throughout the marketing, viewing and sales process. From weekly progress reports to liaising with our appointed Solicitors, the team have been honest, hard-working, committed and above all, professionally focused on achieving the best price for our property. If you’re looking to sell your property, then do yourself a favour and speak to the team at Alexander Jacob. I recommend them without reservation.

Fantastic experience: I have sold my house with Alexander Jacob Estate agents. Rod gave me brilliant advice from the start. I have dealt with Aaron throughout and he has been fantastic, keeping me updated at every stage. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Our sincere thanks to you and all your most helpful and friendly staff . Your support and help has been most appreciated during our house sale and purchase of our new home.

Positive experience: A little slow to respond but very helpful and friendly

Negative experience: Disgusting, wouldn't entertain them

Fantastic experience: Best Agent In Retford. Friendly Staff, Answered All My Questions. Showed Me Multiple Properties One After Another (another local agent refused this). Helped Me Complete My Application & I Moved In With Zero Stress. So Happy With My New Rental.

Negative experience: I travelled to Retford specifically for some viewings and they cancelled theirs just couple of hours before it. Very unprofessional to say the least

Negative experience: The receptionist dealing with lettings was rude and dis respect ful

Fantastic experience: The best agent's I have dealt with,so professional and helpful, simply the best!

Fantastic experience: Can't fault Alexander Jacob as agents. Communication from Danny is 2nd to none and they've maintained & looked after my property for years. Brilliant service.

Fantastic experience: Cannot fault rhod he's helped us out loads when our landlord decided to sell the house always friendly and helpful

Negative experience: Rob Dobson recently took over town and country lettings retford. Recently found out after 5 years that they never put my £400 bond into a secure deposit scheme and the cirtificate i had been given was fake. They say they used the £400 bond for rent. But this is a lie and not aloud to be done anyway. As soon as Rob Dobson found out i was going to court about my bond going missing and never been protected he isued a section 21 eviction notice. Even tho they are not aloud to isue one when a tenents deposit wasn't secured. He follows no rules and does as he likes regardless of the law. Be very warey of dealing with Rob Dobson, Liz Callan, Richard Windley.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service from beginning to end :o)

Fantastic experience: Great team! Excellent service! Huge thanks to Rod especially for an overall five star service!

Fantastic experience: We bought our house through Alexander Jacob and we found the whole experience very easy. Any questions we had were answered quickly and honestly and found all the members of staff extremely friendly. We would definitely recommend this estate agent to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I by property from this guy is absolutely excellent perfect highly recommended
