Fantastic experience: Bairstow Eves in Canterbury have found us a small flat which we are buying now (February 2026). The agency's staff has always been very helpful and reactive to our requests, especially Ben Trott who has accompanied us on our visits. Ben has been extremely helpful, always in a good mood and positive. He also has knowledge of the building trade, and gives good advice about possible works to properties.

Fantastic experience: I'm not selling or buying with Bairstow Eves but a neighbouring property is up for sale with them. This property is vacant and recently I have become concerned because post and leaflets get left on the floor in front of the door. I raised this concern with the local postman but nothing was done about it. Then the for sale board fell down, so I phone Bairstow Eves and expressed my concerns that the post is advertising that the property is empty. Someone from Bairstow Eves came out the same day to clear away the post and the for sale board was back up the following day. Really impressed that they listened to me and dealt with my concerns straight away. Thank you Bairstow Eves!

Negative experience: The absolute worst experience I have ever had dealing with anyone, trying to purchase a house. The service from start to finish was shocking. Funnily enough, I was actually trying to buy one of their houses! Offers on the property not being put forward, at all, to the vendor. The endless ‘I will call you backs’ which never happened. Messages and emails not being answered. Rudeness and total unprofessionalism from the original team who I dealt with back in February, didn’t improve a huge amount when a new team were shipped in. Not one agent had any oversight properly of the chain, who could communicate effectively between different solicitors and people in the chain. I actually feel so sorry for the people in the chain who have paid for them to represent them. Don’t waste your money, time or list your house with these absolute cowboys.

Fantastic experience: Professional service and their mortgage advisor is truly exeptional

Negative experience: My worst estate agent experience EVER. Signed them to sell house and owing to a mysterious disappearance of the sales rep who came out we were forgotten. Emails and phone messages not responded to in a timely manner and in some cases not responded to at all. Do not use. I am a reputable author and also property developer and I know all about the property business. Suggest read other poor reviews as concur.

Negative experience: Honestly the worst experience of dealing with an agent. Do not use them if you are selling your house or wanting to but a house. As a buyer, they didn't put out offer to the vendor, when they finally did after phoning daily to chase, it was accepted. They took 4 weeks to send out a memorandum in which time they asked for our details 3 times as kept losing. The vendor pulled out due to their time delay and they didn't tell us. They cost us £360 in getting the survey done after they knew the vendor had pulled out. We haven't had a call back once with an update, and the staff lie to cover their mistakes. We didn't find out from them that the vendor has pulled out and 4 weeks later are still waiting for Joe the apparent manager to call us back. Honestly the worst experience, and we are not surprised the vendor pulled out if age had the same experience as us

Negative experience: To be honest, this is possibly the worse service received as a buyer in my working life. We are currently in the process of buying a property through the Canterbury office. David Mansfield, Iona Russell and Victor Ravi all permanently left the office with no notification to us. Calling the office is a nightmare. New agent by the name of Ollie was incredibly unhelpful with trying to chase up the seller to figure out what is happening. We have no single point of contact at the office. You can only get through to the office if you phone in with a withheld number. Head office, more specifically, Sophie Hull from Countrywide, attempted multiple times to contact the office, with nobody answering her calls. Annabelle Brown from Mann Canterbury is the only agent who has taken meaningful steps to inform us of what is happening with the house purchase. This is only a snapshot of the dreadful service received so far. The sellers of the property in question should be giving their fees to Mann Canterbury. Paying your fees to Bairstow Eves Canterbury would be an absolute insult for their lack of professionalism and due diligence. We are yet to know whether or not the seller is interested in selling or not - bare in mind we received our memorandum of sale one month ago and had our offer accepted almost 6 weeks ago. Hopefully this damning review will wake the staff up to take their jobs seriously and tell us what is happening. Let’s see.

Fantastic experience: I used Victor as my mortgage advisor and he was great from start to finish. I’m a first time buyer so initially was intimidated by the whole process but he broke everything down for me step-by-step - including the mortgage process and my affordability/budgeting per month. He managed to secure me a good deal which I got accepted on first time. He was always on hand to ask any questions I had.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I were buying a property in this country for the first time and we are not as young as we used to be. Fortunately, we were introduced to Victor, which was the best thing that could have happened to us. Without Victor's help I am sure we would still be looking around for a mortgage - it is not so easy when you are no longer a youngster. Victor was an immense help all along the way, giving advice about different properties and helping us get on the "property ladder"; we are so grateful for all his input. He has been the only mortgage advisor to actually help me and get the house purchase sorted as I've met a ton of them and all of them are just after your wallet. Negative experience: I could not even get through the door. We knocked and asked if we can get some advise about properties and the area as we are unfamiliar with it. The woman said that we should go online as they are not fully open at 10:30. When I asked when will they be fully opened, as i would like to discuss some of the properties, she repeared that I should go online as everything is there and us talking would not make a difference. Give us a card and closed the door. Hmm...

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Bairstow Eves' Canterbury branch after they successfully sold my property this year. They did much more than sell, they gave support and assistance throughout the process. With a team of just three I always knew that whoever I spoke to would know me and the stage that the sale had reached and what was the issue of the moment. They were totally professional throughout as well as showing empathy and understanding when things were stressful. The sale was very protracted owing to difficulties with the beginning of the chain and then a technical legal issue over my own property. The attention to detail of Craig, Megan and Dan at Bairstow meant that the chain held together through this period, often because they worked so hard to make up for the shortcomings of online agents and conveyancers involved with other links in the chain. If ever there was an example of the value of using a local high street agent (and conveyancer) this was it! Many thanks to an excellent team.

Fantastic experience: I didn't use Bairstow Eves to sell my property earlier this year ( I wish I had done) - they were marketing the house I wanted to buy. Due to various issues with both my sale and the purchase it took a long time to reach completion but during this time I received continuous support from Craig, Megan and Dan at Bairstow Eves. As well as selling me a property they also communicated with my buyers as the cheaper online agency I had used had lost interest. The customer service I received from Bairstow Eves was excellent and I would recommend them to anyone wishing to sell their home.
