Negative experience: Just a word of warning about how dodgy estate agents can be. My house was marketed by Allen and Harris without success for six months. I moved to another agent and the property was sold after another six months. I have now been sent a bill for almost £10000 as the buyer had viewed with them once last year. Right at the start I had asked Christopher Taylor (their ‘Instructions Manager) whether there was any commitment once the initial tie in was over. He assured me there was no further commitment. Unfortunately their small print says they can claim the fees for up to two years. So be warned, promises, commitments and assurances are worthless. Only the small print counts. Will now have to waste time with Ombudsman etc.

Fantastic experience: I have just sold and bought my house through Allen and Harris and can’t speak highly enough of the team, Andy, Chris ,Molly and Gemma in particular. They were with me every step of the way ,so supportive and helpful especially when I had problems with the solicitors D C Law (don’t use them !) . Having exchanged on 11 th November I am still having financial problems with D C Law but nothing is too much trouble for Allan and Harris in helping me to sort it out. I can recommend them with confidence and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Her appraisal of my property was what I had expected, she was not pushy, which made the process really easy. Jemma went through the details as much as I needed.
