Negative experience: Arbroath Branch – 2026 Back in around 2016, they were our heroes, coming to our rescue when another commercial agent had let us down. The premises became vacant around the Covid period or earlier. As we are not local, we relied on them to get the premises re-let. The Wardhaugh office is close to the premises, so we expected a proactive approach. They literality walk past every day. What disappointed was discovering by accident that our premises were no longer advertised on their website. Nobody had informed us, and there was no handover or assistance in finding another agent. It felt as though they had simply forgotten about us. I feel they did not take care of us. We also experienced difficulties getting calls returned, leaving us concerned that enquiries from prospective commercial tenants might have been missed. There were other issues and losses, which I won't go into here. We needed an agent who was proactive, motivated and on fire to get things done for their client. Sadly, that wasn't our experience. In 2026, we decided to market the premises ourselves. Within the first month of placing a private advert, we received interest from 5 prospective commercial tenants. This left us questioning why an established agent had struggled to generate interest. As we are not local and Wardhaugh still held our keys, we asked them to conduct viewings for people responding to our advert. We were even willing to pay for this service. The main reason for this 1 star review: The agency could not locate our property keys and apparently had no record of them on its system. We now face locksmith costs, with no offer so far to cover them. We were told the business changed ownership 2 months ago, although we understand it remains the same company. It's disappointing considering how highly we once regarded this branch. Nevertheless, good luck to the new owners (sorry for the 1 star review).

Fantastic experience: I initially made contact with Wardhaugh to inquire about a property. It did take a week or so to hear back but once the ball was rolling, things happened quickly and very efficiently. Ashley Gibson in Forfar office was dealing with my applications and was so diligent and helpful. She kept me in the loop and when I unfortunately did not secure the first property, she was quickly on the case with a viewing for another. I felt like she took me seriously as a mother seeking a new home and was professional but friendly throughout. I was successful with the second property and Ashley has made it possible for me to start my new life next week! Thanks again!!

Negative experience: Having had to endure multiple incidents of severe anti social behavior/vandalism from their so called screened tenants in our block of four flats, myself and the other neighbors got zero support from this company despite multiple police and council visits regarding the issues. Door slamming due to domestics was so severe that plaster was knocked off the communal wall and is still lying outside their flat's door months after their nightmare tenants left. Unbelievably after many promises that the damage would be repaired, they are actually now allowing new viewings of the property whilst this mess is still lying all over landing right outside their own flat, you couldn't make it up.

Fantastic experience: Me and my family found a new home with Wardhaugh Property. Massive thanks to Charlotte! She offered professional service and made the entire letting process as smooth as possible. MyRentalCV portal is a bit tricky and took a while to completed but the customer call centre was always happy to help.

Negative experience: Unfortunately was very disappointed with the service I received. Failure to communicate without me having to contact them first and no calls when promised. Eventually decided to use a different company.

Fantastic experience: When house hunting Wardhaugh properties allowed a seamless transition between branches and did not drop my application when I couldn't find the right home for me. When dealing with Wardhaugh there was a special attention to detail throughout the whole process from putting in my application to move in date to ensure I was happy with everything and all details were something I agreed with. Nicky Taylor has been extremely helpful and has dealt with any maintenance or queries promptly. Being a tenant with Wardhaugh properties has allowed the main stressors to be alleviated by Nicky so all I had to focus on was my physical move. They even offer a service for setting up utility bills and the transfer of your accounts from your previous address !!

Negative experience: The worst estate agent I have come across and I've dealt with a lot of bad ones! Don't expect to ever hear back from them. Numerous emails and messages left on their answer machines at both the Forfar and Arbroath offices. Extremely unprofessional!

Negative experience: I've been searching for a property since Feb. I moved to arbroath 4 months ago into shared accomodation and spent that 4 months trying to find a property.i visited montrose to go to nationwide and spoke to an estate agent while I was there,i looked at two properties while i was there which i was shocked to be able to do on the spot and I found a property I liked and moved in roughly a week later which I've been happily living in for just over a week now Wardhaugh staff are friendly enough and I understand there is a process to these things but I truly believe they need more competition to buck their ideas. The estate agents I'm with have been nothing but super friendly and couldn't do enough to help me move into my new property and also they are helping me find some furniture as I only have a bed at the moment. I'm sorry I couldn't give a better review but my experience with you as a buisness was terrible as I say nothing personal against the staff who I'm sure are lovely

Negative experience: Would not recommend this company, I have been trying to call for days , no one ever answers or returns your calls, Do they not want peoples business?!

Positive experience: Staff very friendly , my property was not accurately described in the advert. Very slow buying process and hard communication between me and the seller whatsoever. Manager is very friendly and helpful ,the staff as well . Way of addressing issues is still slow and needs improvement. Phone answering ......takes a long time

Negative experience: I purchased a property sold by them. I went to collect the keys, and they didn't have a clue about them (despite the ok from the solicitors hours prior to me getting there). They were incredibly rude and condescending, and clearly annoyed they had to actually do some work to find out where my keys were. I wish I could give zero stars.

Negative experience: PROPERTY APPLICATION ON FIRST COME FIRST SERVE NOT TRUE!! Despite a property being on website for months and applying the 1st day it was advertised we have still not being offered viewing!! Poor service. Asked to change my last review. Utterly disappointed!! Do not recommend!

Negative experience: We have repetedly applied for properties that have been shown available to rent for weeks and despite asking for feedback and if someone can get back to us to let us know if we will be getting a viewing or not we are constantly being ignored. It takes 2 minutes to reply to someone and say no you cant have a viewing but instead they leave you waiting and not knowing what is going on. They haven't been any help and have left us feeling that we have been written off renting any property from them without finding out our affordability.

Negative experience: (Dated 2016) Awful service. Set up viewings for 3 properties in Arbroath. Got there a few minutes late (we came from Dundee), and the sour faced rep (Robin) said we could only view 1 of the properties because the other ones had been applied for. Fair enough, but the entire viewing was negative. It wasn't the flat for us but the guy didn't know a thing about it, never smiled or looked remotely interested. Couple of weeks later, both flats we couldn't view were still for rent, so we set up a viewing for one of them without issue. Got there on the day, (on time) and realised eventually nobody was coming. Phoned them up, they claimed to have the wrong phone number for us, and that our rep (Max) had been "taken out of the office unexpectedly." Very unprofessional to not let us know. Update: Couple of weeks later, my parents arrange to view 2 properties, with Max. 4 of us go, nobody turns up. Dad calls after 15 minutes. They say (without checking anything) that Max was held up at a previous appointment and would be there in 5. 10 minutes later Robin from the first viewing shows up, and apologises (unconvincingly), and shows us the flat. We couldn't view the second property because it was only on the website to 'generate interest', but he offers another at the top of our budget. We go see it, perfect place. We decide an hour later we're having it, go into the shop to be told the price is £50 more than what Robin said, they need ID, and bank statements, and they needed us to be earning £16.5k a year, which we don't. This wasn't mentioned at the viewings and it was a smack in the face, like saying we were not good enough for this flat. So unimpressed with this pack of clowns.

Negative experience: Everything from managing a property/invoices/updates and a final inspection is terrible.stay away if you don't want to pay %10 fee and do everything yourself.

Negative experience: Trying to rent a Forfar property, thier process is inflexible, not working and when I tried to visit in person I was patronised beyond my patience levels. I would recommend using any other letting agency unless you possess the patience of a Saint and the luck of the devil. Very poor service indeed.

Fantastic experience: Lori has just recently taken over the running of property maintenence and I have to say she has done an amazing job. In the space of 10 days I've had all my issues addressed that have been ongoing for quite a long time. Lori is the kind of employee that is worth her weight in gold, polite,professional, understanding and empathetic and treats you like a person not a job and an asset to the company.

Negative experience: Amazing that anyone manages to rent through these jokers. Have been looking at properties for the past few weeks now. Very slow/ almost non responsive to emails. Initial applications seem to have been disregarded. Differing information depending on which branch you call. Obviously looking for that certain clientele, god help anyone actually renting through these people, deary me.

Negative experience: Shocking performance, viewed a number of properties with wardhaugh before the lock down happened and was looking down on by the person doing the viewing As soon as she saw me and my partner she looked at us like we were not good enough Felt very uncomfortable and then we found out all applications must be approved by her so gave up with them and will not be using them in the future

Fantastic experience: Wardhaugh have now rented out our properties 5 times. I would now go nowhere else. I have also sold one property through Wardhaugh and I was delighted with the results. They are exceptionally good. Professional,friendly informative in fact everything you would want an estate agent to be.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional. I spoke to a girl called Nicky who couldn't answer a question directly apart from stating the landlord wouldn't accept disabled claimants. Isn't this discrimination I asked ? I don't know, she said I've only been here two months. Give this girl some training before letting her loose on the public!

Negative experience: Wardhaugh are absolutely unprofessional and nasty, After renting a property and asking for repairs that were dangerous to my family's health, they refused to address these, they wouldn't answer emails and Fiona the manager at Forfar would shout nastily on the phone if you dared call the office and speak to her about these. Boiler stopped working in the middle of winter, 3 children under 5, wardhaugh would not fix this, we had to fix this from our own pocket. One of the few times they had one of their own workmen in they broke something in the house and wardhaugh tried to bill myself and my husband for this! I have had threatening calls from the company, I have been called a various range of names from this place also! A friend went to view one of their properties and was turned away as he didn't look the part to live in the area, without even viewing the house. In the end, my family had to leave here due to high stress and other health concerns related to the condition the property was allowed to deteriorate to at the hands of the agents. I would advise anyone who considers renting from this agency to avoid them. We went on to buy a new home, and I wouldn't line Wardhaugh's pockets by buying one of their properties, thank you Wardhaugh for making our life hell for 2 year and pushing us into the property ladder!

Fantastic experience: Myself and partner recently used Wardhaugh to find ourselves a property to rent. We are so happy with the service they provided. They are timely and professional, approachable with any queries aswell. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a first time home or otherwise!
